Region: Terre di Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy
Appearance: Pale straw yellow with golden reflections; luminous and fresh
Winemaking Method: Stainless steel fermentation, aged briefly on fine lees to enhance texture and aromatics; minimal intervention to showcase purity of the Pecorino grape
Origin / Grape / ABV: 100% Pecorino · ~13% ABV
Tasting Note:
Crisp and aromatic, with scents of lemon zest, white peach, wildflowers, and hints of chamomile. The palate is lively and refreshing, showing juicy stone fruit, citrus brightness, and a delicate almond-mineral finish. Balanced acidity gives structure and length.
Food Pairing:
Excellent with seafood pasta, grilled white fish, sushi, light chicken dishes, fresh salads, and soft goat cheese.
Fun Fact:
The Pecorino grape was nearly forgotten until its revival in Abruzzo, where Torre Zambra farms south-facing clay-limestone slopes in Poggio Salaia, just a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. The cool sea breezes give this wine its signature freshness and saline touch.
