Christophe Mignon ADN de Meunier Extra Brut NV | Vallée de la Marne, Champagne

ADN means DNA - and this is Meunier in its purest form. Christophe Mignon is one of the rare growers who has dedicated himself entirely to this grape, long dismissed as the "lesser" Champagne variety. This cuvee is his answer to that reputation: 100% Meunier, from 48-year-old vines on clay and limestone soils in Festigny and Le Breuil, harvested by hand and vinified with obsessive attention to terroir.

About the Producer Christophe Mignon farms in the Vallée de la Marne with certified ARTERRA alternative methods - a commitment to working with nature rather than against it. Bottling and disgorgement follow the lunar calendar. This is a grower who does things his way, and the wines show it.

Winemaking Each plot is vinified and aged separately - 5 months on lees before blending, then 12 additional months on fine lees for the reserve wines. No malolactic fermentation, keeping the wine tense and precise. Bottled in 2021 and aged 36 months in bottle before release. Disgorgement date is printed on the label.

A note on sweetness Extra Brut: Between 2 and 4 g/l. Bone dry - minimal dosage that lets the terroir and the grape speak without interference.

Country: France | Region: Vallée de la Marne, Champagne | Grapes: 100% Meunier | Style: Extra Brut | Harvest: 2019/2020

Tasting Note Clear and bright in the glass with extremely fine bubbles. A harmonious nose of white flowers, elegant and inviting. The palate is silky with refined fruity notes, leading to a long, complex finish where a beautiful salinity takes over - the unmistakable signature of old vines on limestone.

Primary Flavors: White flowers, fresh fruit, brioche, mineral, sea salt

Food Pairing: Oysters, grilled fish, sushi, fresh goat cheese, light starters

Fun Fact: Meunier is the most planted grape in Champagne, yet almost no one makes a single-varietal cuvee from it. Christophe Mignon built his entire house around proving what it can do on its own.
