Laherte Frères Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature | Chavot, Champagne

Pure and uncompromising, this Blanc de Blancs is drawn from Laherte's finest Chardonnay parcels on the south-facing slopes of Epernay. No dosage, no shortcuts. Just old vines, exceptional terroir, and the kind of crystalline clarity that only zero sugar can reveal.

About the Producer Laherte Frères has been farming in Chavot since 1889, and today the domaine is known for its ecological approach in the vineyard and its thoughtful, hands-on winemaking. Vines are grown with deep respect for nature, guided by ecological methods, with an average vine age of around 35 years.

Winemaking Grapes are hand-harvested at full ripeness and pressed traditionally. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in small foudres and barrels with periodic bâtonnage. Malolactic fermentation is only partially completed to preserve freshness and structure. The wine ages on fine lees, with 50% reserve wines from previous vintages, aged in barrel on lees, blended in for depth and continuity. Disgorgement is done by hand with no dosage whatsoever.

Country: France | Region: Champagne | Grapes: 100% Chardonnay | Style: Brut Nature

Tasting Note Beautifully balanced for a non-dosé, with citrus and apple fruitiness at the core and intriguing hints of dried mango and preserved ginger adding depth. But this wine is really all about soil and the expression of place: precise, mineral, and completely alive. Rated 95/100 by Antonio Galloni.

Primary Flavors: Citrus, green apple, dried mango, preserved ginger, mineral

Food Pairing: Oysters, sea urchin, sashimi, aged Comté, delicate white fish

Fun Fact: With zero dosage and only 20% malolactic fermentation completed, this wine walks a razor-sharp tightrope between tension and harmony. Peter Liem described it as "all about soil and expression of place," which is about as high a compliment as Champagne gets.
