Pittnauer R&B – Burgenland

Red & Blonde is a wine that refuses to be categorized. Part orange, part red, entirely its own thing. Grüner Veltliner and St. Laurent dancing together in a glass, creating something light, rhythmic, and completely original. Best served cold.

Appearance: Pale ruby with an orange blush, a color that perfectly signals the wine’s hybrid personality

Winemaking & Aging: A co-fermentation of Grüner Veltliner (white) and St. Laurent (red) using natural, biodynamic farming. Minimal intervention preserves the lively, playful character of both varieties.

Country / Region / Grapes / ABV: Austria, Burgenland | Grüner Veltliner 75%, St. Laurent 25% | ~11.5% ABV

Tasting Note: Bright and energetic with aromas of sour cherry, white pepper, and a squeeze of citrus. On the palate it’s light and crisp, with the herbal freshness of Grüner and the red fruit lift of St. Laurent. Refreshing, rhythmic, and endlessly drinkable, especially slightly chilled.

Primary Flavors: Sour cherry, white pepper, citrus, red berries, fresh herbs

Food Pairing: Charcuterie, light pasta, grilled chicken, mezze, pizza, or anything casual and relaxed

Fun Fact: R&B stands for “Red & Blonde”  Pittnauer’s playful nod to the unlikely duo of a red grape and a white grape making a wine together. Chill it down and treat it like you would a rosé. Trust us.
